Pickens County Sheriff's Office and Jail has entered a new construction phase and parking around the Sheriff's Office will be limited.  Anyone coming for inmate visitation is asked to use the public parking lot behind the Pizza Doctor.  Designated "Handicap Parking" is available directly in front of the Sheriff's Office.

Pickens County Sheriff’s Office asks Pickens County residents to call 911 immediately whenever they see suspicious vehicles or people in your communities.

New scams are appearing.  One scam is for unknown persons to call and state that you have a warrant out for your arrest.  Then they start asking for personal and financial information in order the clear the warrant up.  This is a scam; the Sheriff’s Office will NEVER ask you for financial information via telephone.

Another recent scam is emails coming into a person in the appearance of a check for certain amounts of money from well known banking institutions.  In the document it asks that you pay certain amount of money as a processing fee.  The email leaves a phone number you may call but you only reach an automated answering machine.  Please do not give out any information or agree to make any payments to anyone.  Please verify all of the information with “known” representatives before making any financial decisions.
