The Pickens County Sheriff's Office announces that Sunday evening, September 6, 2020 Alabama Game & Fish Officers became involved in a vehicle pursuit on Highway 17 in the Reform, Alabama area. Game & Fish Officers called for assistance and officers from Pickens County Sheriff's Office, Reform Police Department and Gordo Police Department responded. The vehicle pursuit ended when the suspect stopped his vehicle and fled on foot in the Poplar Springs Community.

 

Pickens County Sheriff's Deputy Taylor Gregory and K-9 Deputy Zuna took up the foot pursuit.   While following the suspect Deputy Gregory observed that Deputy K-9 Zuna was alerting. Deputy Gregory and Deputy Zuna followed the track which led to several plants that appeared to be Marijuana.   Deputy Gregory and Deputy Zuna continued tracking the suspect. Additional information was obtained and the suspect was found and arrested at a Poplar Springs residence the suspect was familiar with. The suspect was charged with Attempting to Elude and additional charges may be forthcoming.

Pickens County Sheriff's Office obtained a search warrant on the discovery of what appeared to be Marijuana plants. Subsequent to the warrant a suspect was arrested on Felony charges of Unlawful Manufacturing of Controlled Substance and 3 counts of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance as well as several misdemeanor charges. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
